Livingston
Don
Livingston was born in Tucson, AZ, and thought he was fated to be an
electrical engineer or marine biologist. Instead, after his freshman
year he decided to study the Russian Language. He taught Russian at the
U of A, ASU, and the University of Washington, eventually getting a
Ph.D. in Slavic linguistics.(How many other people do you know who
have studied Bulgarian and Old Church Slavic?)
He spent many happy years in Evangelical churches, learned to meditate
in the tradition of the Catholic mystic Jeanne Guyon, has been a cantor
for the Desert Lotus Zen Sangha, strums guitar, sings, writes poetry and
a bit of fiction, and plays with GNU/Linux.
"I think we are created for joy, and joy results when we find a balance
of body, emotion, and intellect, all interacting with the divine that
underlies the Universe. Anusara yoga is a happy set of tools for
learning that balance. Joy to the body, joy to the heart, joy to the
mind...joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea, joy to you and me!"
